Welcome to Better Balance – Safer You

Become Secure on Your Feet and on the Street

Our Mission

We want to inspire seniors to look at exercise from a whole new perspective by combining the best balancing techniques with basic self-defense motions. We build confidence and promote independence and personal safety all while exercising in a fun and practical way. We know everyone has different abilities, so we focus and improve upon what seniors CAN do instead of dwelling on what seniors can’t do. You deserve to feel safe on your feet and on the street!

Focus on your Strengths

Learning a new skill should be a rewarding, non-judgmental experience, which is why our curriculum is flexible to each individual's unique abilities. In other words, we focus on improving what you can already do! We believe that specific goals are essential in achieving maximum results.

Meet Our Founder

Better Balance – Safer You is developed and instructed by George Zabrecky,  Taekwondo Master and 5th degree Black Belt. A lifelong fitness enthusiast, George practiced various sports and trained in Taekwondo since 1984. He taught Taekwondo to students of all ages, including his daughters Kristin and Allison, both third-degree black belts. In 2019, he achieved the title of Master (5th Degree Black Belt) recognized by the World Black Belt Bureau. Realizing the lack of self-defense classes for seniors, he developed Better Balance – Safer You, a program combining the best balance techniques with self-defense motions- helping improve balance, self-confidence and personal safety for seniors.
